Ocean City’s Second Season Brings Fall Events, Low Vacation-Rental Rates

Labor Day signals the start of Ocean City’s Second Season — the fall shoulder season that brings beautiful weather, lighter crowds, and off-season discounts on vacation rentals! Between Delmarva Bike Week, Sunfest, Endless Summer Cruisin, and hosted fishing and golf tournaments and Halloween-related events, there’s plenty to do in Ocean City once summer ends.

Endless Sumer Cruisin
Oct. 6 through Oct. 9

Join 2,000 hot-rod, custom-car, and trick-truck owners as they parade, display, and auction their vehicles. The main venues are the Inlet and Convention Center, but you can view cars over the entire length of Coastal Highway. Enjoy celebrity meet & greets an indoor car show, collector car auction, and more at this wildly popular annual event. Fee required for some events.

37th Annual Mid-Atlantic Surf Fishing Tournament on the Beach
Oct. 7 through Oct. 8

Head to the 30th St.-119th St. beaches on Oct. 7 and 8 to watch approximately 70 registered teams vie for trophies and prizes. The tournament includes nightly events.

Bonfire Family Fun Night on the Beach
130th St.
Oct. 7, 6-8 p.m.

Spend a family-friendly evening around a beach bonfire, weather permitting. S’mores, cocoa, stories, and live music are all part of the fun. Register at the beach. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Leashed pets are welcome. $5 adults, $3 children. Flat fee for large families.

Fall Restaurant Week
Oct. 9 through Oct. 23

Dine at participating restaurants to enjoy special, fixed-price lunch and dinner menus.

Corvette Weekend
Oct. 14 through Oct. 15

More than 1,200 Corvette enthusiasts converge on Ocean City for the East Coast’s largest Corvette Club-sponsored event. This charitable event features car shows, rallies, a parade, and other activities.

Oct. 15

Skaters 6 years and older are invited to participate in the Ocean Bowl. This free event features skateboarding competitions, food, and entertainment.

Rocktoberfest Fishing Tournament

Oct. 22 through Oct. 23

Check out Ocean City’s only rockfish tournament. This 24-hour, 4 p.m.-4 p.m. event awards prizes for the heaviest rockfish, flounder, trout, and tautog. The event wraps up at Fish Tales with a good, old-fashioned Eastern Shore beach bonfire and pig roast.
